This little guy suffered a serious injury because someonedidn't put out a beach fire properly!
He stepped on a fire that was buried in sand.  The proper way to put out a fire is to put it out with water.  That is the only way to ensure no one will be burned by your fire on the beach.  Do not have a fire unless you can put it out properly.  Otherwise you are responsible for the burn that will happen to anyone walking across the beach after your fire.

Our beach is our playground
This is where we come to to relax, play and meet friends and family for fun! Late spring through early fall you will find  many residents enjoying the sun, sand and cool breezes.  Remember your sunscreen, bring your beach chairs and cool drinks and watch the sun slowly sink behind the Chicago skyline.  The sunsets are gorgeous on Ogden Dunes Beach!

The Pictures Above Are From The Sandcastle Contest in 2009.  Although it was overcast that day it was a great day for building sandcastles!
